SM Southmall or SM Southmall Las Piñas is a large shopping mall owned and operated by SM Prime Holdings. The mall is located in Las Piñas City, Philippines. The mall opened in April 1995, and is the first SM Supermall in southern region of Metro Manila, the 5th SM Supermall ever built by Chinese-Filipino businessman, Henry Sy, Sr. and the 5th largest shopping mall in the Philippines.. The mall still remains as the largest shopping mall in the South Metro Manila Area in terms of its size which is 200,000 sq.m of land area and a total floor area of 205,120 sq.m.

History

After Henry Sy Sr. publicly listed SM Prime Holdings in 1994, the company continued to plan and operate shopping malls throughout the country. On April 2, 1995, SM Southmall was opened, the 5th SM Supermall ever built with a floor area of 205,120 sq.m and a land area of 200,000 sq.m. The mall features the SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Cinemas, Storyland, SM Food Court, The 2nd Ice Skating Rink, and also features anchors like Ace Hardware, Toy Kingdom, SM Appliance Center, Our Home, Surplus Shop, and Watsons. By March 2010 the mall began renovations. One of its major renovation is the adding of an IMAX Theatre which was opened last July 14, 2011. SM Prime said that Door 4 will Be Temporrarily Closed on September 5. Then the Ice Skating Rink was moved at the 2nd Level last October 14 2011.SM Southmall is currently undergoing redevelopment
